Down to the Chassis

RS8 Restoration
The cab, stripped and removed, ready for shotblasting
Front leaf springs removed from hangers
The original Rolls Royce C6NFL engine
Back inside the shop, the almost bare chassis
The gearbox assembly, still to be removed
Welding on the front of RS8 where the chassis was extended for the diesel engine
One of the front buffers….
… and the buffer spring.
Outside the shotblasting begins
… the cab is stripped to bare metal
RS8 has been brought back into the Geoffrey Briddon Building so that dismantling of the chassis can continue.
